The Algerian digital platform for the Quran - MAQRAA
The Electronic Maqra'a of Algeria is an official platform under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, dedicated to learning the Holy Quran in terms of memorization, Tajwid (rules of recitation) and different Quranic readings. It is accessible to both residents in Algeria and those from abroad, thanks to modern technologies, under the supervision of an elite of specialized sheikhs, holders of ijazas and experienced in teaching the Koran and its sciences.
The Electronic Maqraa of Algeria was founded on the 1st Ramadan 1441H, corresponding to April 25, 2020, with the establishment of an electronic platform on the official website of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs. It brings together more than 100 teachers (men and women) spread over several time slots, allowing learners to correct their recitation and recite what they have memorized.
A year after its launch, an academic Maqraa was established, where learners are divided into classes and levels, according to approved educational programs.
The objective of the Electronic Maqraa of Algeria is to facilitate access for different layers of society to learning the Koran and its sciences through modern technological means, in particular:
• Teach the memorization of the Quran with perfection, mainly according to the reading of Warsh according to Nafi’, as well as other recitations,
• Teach the rules of Tajwid and correct the recitation according to Warsh and other variants,
• Revise and strengthen memorization of the Quran, by mastering the similarities of the verses,
• Preserve the national reference in terms of teaching the Koran, by generalizing the reading of Warsh,
• Train advanced memorizers to obtain ijazas in various Quranic readings,
• Discover, supervise and prepare Quranic talents for national and international competitions,
• Highlight the great masters and mistresses of Koranic teaching in Algeria,
• Support the Algerian diaspora in memorizing the Koran,
• Contribute to the training and qualification of teachers of the Koran, in order to ensure teaching in accordance with contemporary requirements,
• Improve the level of employees in the Religious Affairs and Wakfs sector.
