Algerian actress and director, born Sakina Mekkiou.

She is renowned as one of the greatest Algerian actresses of the last fifty years.

Between 2001 and 2004, she directed the INADC-National Institute of Dramatic and Choreographic Arts, which since 2004 became the Higher Institute of Performing Arts and Audiovisual Professions - ISMAS, initiated the creation of the Women's Theater Festival in Annaba in 2012,

As an actress, she works with Mustapha Kateb, El Hachemi Noureddine, Abdelkader Alloula, Tayeb Sediki (Moroccan playwright), Sid Ahmed Agoumi, Ziani Chérif Ayad, M'hamed Benguettaf... In France, she works with Jean Yves Lazennec (co-founder of the Théâtre universitaire de Paris X), Hervé Loichemol (director of the Comédie de Genève) and Jean Louis Hourdin.

In 2009, she was appointed director of the Regional Theater of Skikda, then of Annaba where she retired in 2015.

She is the first woman to direct a theater in Algeria.
