El Kantara Gorges
The town of El Kantara is the result of Mio-Pliocene and Quaternary filling. The Ain Skhoun source is the most important in the region, the El Kantara wadi or El Haï wadi is made up of small dams which are in turn formed into four irrigation canals, to ensure the water supply of the commune. The climate is cold in winter and hot in summer. The commune is crossed by Algerian national road no. 3 and by the railway line coming from Batna and going towards Biskra.
