The white flower produces a small elongated dark green fruit which becomes increasingly pale green and ends bright yellow as it grows.
The fruit has a smooth, bright yellow peel. Its juicy flesh is very acidic and rich in vitamin C. An essential oil is extracted from the yellow bark which contains, among other substances, limonene or citral.
