Marc-Pierre de Voyer de Paulmy, Count of Argenson, is a French statesman born in Paris on August 16, 1696 and died in the same city on August 26, 1764.

He was lieutenant general of police (1720, then 1722-1724), following his father Marc-René de Voyer de Paulmy d'Argenson (1652-1721), chancellor of the Duke of Orléans from 1723 to 1740, then minister of state (1742) and secretary of state for war of Louis XV from January 1743 to February 1757.
