Ancient Gates of Lodi - Médéa
We saw the old gates of Lodi in real life, but not only on stamps or postcards but embedded in the ground of the city of Médéa, enthused the postage stamp enthusiasts who came to Médéa for this first event. The gates of Lodi or “Akwess” of the city of Médéa were stamped in 1961 during the French colonial era. A stamp with a face value of Un Nouveau Franc. It is a historical marvel which represents a Roman aqueduct of which some traces of this legend remain in the city center of Médéa.
And as such some philatelists from the country who were invited to the first collectors' fair (philatelists, cartophilists, numismatists.) Had the pleasure of contemplating this splendor in reality, its great architectural beauty.
And it was in the Hassan El-Hassani House of Culture from the 15th to the 18th of the current month that 25 wilaya representatives met to participate in this first show which was inaugurated with great fanfare and solemnity by local officials.
Philately and all other collections were warmly welcomed and as befits this cultural art within the house of culture to exhibit their collections for three days.
Postal stamps, postcards, bank notes, old paper and other curiosities brought joy and pleasure to the eyes of the visitors who came in large numbers to discover and view the cultural and identity heritage of the country through thematic postal presentations.
Three days of communications, exchanges and sharing of passion between the participants who honored their leisure activities joyfully and fraternally as is customary in the collector's family.
A big thank you! To our Friends of Médéa for the welcome and support during this wonderful stay spent in Médéa.
A neat and rewarding closing amidst a local musical troupe and farewells for next year.
Thank you again for the excursion and the visit to Médéa. Memories of his moments full of emotions on Thiberine’s side
