The stamp issued bearing the image of Algerian customs recalls, in particular, the scope of their missions:
In terms of space and fields of intervention (vast borders and customs territory, etc.);
In terms of the nature of intervention (protection of the national economy, national heritage, as well as citizen security, etc.).
Under the national flag which symbolizes patriotic commitment and the institutional character of customs missions, vigilant customs officers are hard at work in the great desert of our country.
In the background image, overlooking the arid setting, the customs logo is located in the middle of the figurine to remind us that the fight of customs officers extends to maritime, land and air spaces.
Equipped with bulletproof vests and binoculars, the customs officers illustrate the modernity efforts and the advances made by the customs administration in terms of the means put in place for quality service, in all places and in all circumstances.
The photo used to show the customs officers in action was awarded by the World Customs Organization (WCO) as the best photo during a competition it organized in 2011: It is entitled “Relief in the Desert”.
The sacrifices that customs officers make in their noble task, despite the dangers that await them daily in their multiple missions of protecting the economy and the citizen, had to be marked by actions of a symbolic nature: This stamp constitutes one of its expressions of recognition and support.
