The International Jamboree is an event which marks the great meeting of scouts from around the world. In 1967, the 12th World Jamboree was held from August 1 to 9, in the state of Idaho, in the United States of America.
The subsequent World Scout Leaders Conference took place from August 11 to 17. In a huge canvas city, 20,000 young people camped and had the opportunity to live together, to know each other better and understand each other.
They were able to compare their knowledge and broaden the scope of their cultural knowledge. The representatives of each nation made great efforts to make their country appreciated through exhibitions, songs and folk dances.
The international conference, for its part, brought together scout leaders and allowed all those responsible to trace the evolution of scouting in their country. The adaptation of scouting to social, economic and political realities in each country was the subject of numerous presentations.
The results of a major survey on the theme “Scouting and youth in the modern world” were studied by the participants.
And it is by singing in all languages, the famous It’s only a goodbye, my brothers! that the scouts and their leaders have agreed to meet in four years in Tokyo.
