Parus caeruleus ultramarinus
Blue tit Parus caeruleus ultramarinus
This beautiful, very colorful bird, remarkably quarrelsome despite its small size (11 cm), lives without much fear of man in gardens as well as in groves or forests.
The blue tit readily assumes acrobatic attitudes.
It is even found in oases where it is indicated by a series of double metallic syllables: “Tizi… tizi…”.
Nesting in a hole in a tree or wall, the blue tit proves to be a valuable aid to agriculture due to the large number of insects it consumes, especially in spring.
