Desert Warbler Sylvia deserticola
This species, which is only desert in winter, is found in the Aurès and the Saharan Atlas.
As the cold seasons approach, it descends further south to Tassili and Hoggar.
12 centimeters long, the male is characterized by a reddish brown back, a dark brown tail with white on the ends.
On the other hand, the head and nape are tinged with gray mixed with brown.
The female can be recognized by a paler shade than that of the male.
The nest, generally well made, contains 3 to 4 eggs of varying color.
The background, which ranges from dirty white to greenish, is richly punctuated with olive brown or slate gray.
Egg-laying takes place in the Saharan Atlas between April and May.
