From the tuberal family, these mycorrhizal fungi are common in North Africa, on the High Plateaux precisely, where they develop on the roots of helianthemums, Arthemisia herba alba and Plantago albicans in particular.
Their hypogeal perithecia the size of a potato constitute terfès or white truffles, edible, but without much flavor.
