Beard horse

The Barb horse is historically the oldest known breed in North Africa.
The head of this beast, characterized by a domed forehead rounded in all directions, is extended by a long face which tends to weigh down the whole.
Its eye is less keen than that of the purebred Arabian.
Its neck is massive, the withers protruding, the thigh flat with a very sloping rump and a tail set very low.
The limbs are robust and clean.
The joints are thick with large, lean tendons, the hooves narrow with tight heels.
He is a very enduring horse. He is considered a very good carrier and is an excellent troop horse.
