A small fishing port located 70 km west of Annaba, Chetaïbi has had several names throughout history.
From Tacatua in Antiquity to Chetaïbi after independence, via Takouche during the time of the Arabs and Herbillon under French domination, the pearl of the coast is undoubtedly the name that suits it best.
Renowned for its superb beaches with fine sand and its countless coves where abundant marine fauna and flora live, this peaceful locality is one of the ideal destinations for lovers of seaside tourism.
Its port was created in 1891, but the region was cited almost a century earlier by the Arab historian Abou Obeïd El Bekri.
Its small village, built in tiers, has retained its character of yesteryear, which makes the region an incomparable tourist stopover.
