Bounoura or the luminous one is one of the five cities forming the pentapolis of M’zab.
Founded in 1046, this city with very characteristic urbanization, since it was built in the shape of a crescent, is located at the meeting of the M'zab wadi and its confluents Azouil and N'tissa.
Tourists passing through the region do not fail to visit the remains of the ksar, witnesses of a thousand-year-old history.
The M'zab valley has been classified as a national historic monument by the Ministry of Culture since 1971 and a universal monument by UNESCO since 1982.
