25th Anniversary of Independence
In the life of nations, 25 years may represent a very modest time, but in view of the progress made and the steps taken in the fight against ignorance, hunger, disease and dependence, the work accomplished by independent Algeria under the leadership of the National Liberation Front Party can appear colossal.
25 years is the age of young people born in 1962 who, today, attend universities, research centers, work in factories, in short everything that Algeria has achieved in 25 years.
Restoration of the State, political and administrative structures, industrial apparatus, basic infrastructures, social infrastructures and others have marked the path traveled enriched with experiences and practices which have continued to sharpen the maturity of vision and apprehension of the future.
Whether at the political, economic, cultural or social level, the changes are numerous and profound in Algerian society and economy, whose youth and dynamism are the major assets to meet the challenges of our time and ensure the future in the continuity of its principles and values.
25 years is the age of majority, but also of maturity for Algeria which has made its way into the concert of nations thanks to the consistency of its decisions. It is also, at the international level, support for just causes and contribution to the emergence of a new order within the international community by engaging in new avenues of dialogue, consultation and cooperation.
25 years is the entire experience of a society which works and aspires to well-being, to an ideal of peace, justice and freedom, again and always, an ideal for which the martyrs made the sacrifice of their lives. It is towards this ideal that Algeria continues to work to meet history and its sons.
