Elanus caeruleus - White Elanion
Protected by Algerian legislation since 1983, this small raptor from the Accipitridae family has an average length of 32 cm.
It has gray and white plumage and is easily recognizable by its black shoulders and its fairly short, forked and whitish tail.
In this species, the iris is red.
The White Elk frequents open landscapes near wetlands.
Like the common kestrel, it flies in place when hunting rodents and large insects.
