The University of Science and Technology of Oran - Mohamed Boudiaf (USTO - MB) is a university located in the commune of Bir El Djir in the eastern suburbs of the city of Oran in Algeria.

It is ranked by U.S. News & World Report at 59th in the 2016 regional ranking of Arab universities.
Oran has been endowed with higher education and scientific research and technological development since the creation of the Institute of Civil and Mechanical Engineering of Oran (IGCMO) by order No. 75-27 of April 29, 1975 of the Ministry of Higher Education. This institute was located at the southern exit of Oran going towards Es Senia.

In September 1986, the city of Oran was endowed with a university center as important as the University of Oran Es-Senia but more modern and in Oran-East. Initially named the University of Science and Technology of Oran (USTO), it was designed by the Japanese architect Kenzō Tange and covered an area of ​​89 ha 2. It was renamed the University of Science and Technology of Oran - Mohamed-Boudiaf in memory of the assassinated president Mohamed Boudiaf.
