Hammam Chellala or Meskhoutine
The Hammam Chellala or Meskhoutine station, near Guelma, is characterized by around ten high-flow springs (500 liters per second).
Its temperature, 95° C, makes it one of the hottest springs in the world alongside those of Iceland.
Its bicarbonate, chloride, arsenical and radioactive waters release hydrogen sulphide and are recommended for rheumatic and respiratory diseases.
Its petrified waterfalls, 500 m wide and 8 m high, inspired the legend of the “wedding of brides” (laârayess).
