20th Anniversary of the First Man on the Moon
Twenty years ago, man took his first steps on the Moon and all of humanity took a giant step forward in the conquest of space. Space has always constituted a permanent field of interest for man in his inexhaustible quest to master the elements of nature within which the Moon was the first star to nourish the myths and cultures of all human civilizations.
On this twentieth anniversary, we cannot help but take a moment of meditation to measure what these first steps on the Moon cost in effort and ingenuity to the man who thus succeeded in capitalizing on years of scientific progress and technological innovations.
Even today, space constitutes a considerable challenge for science and humanity and, as such, it is the subject of colossal research and exploration programs. Neither failures, nor loss of life, nor the scarcity of financial resources have, to date, set back man in his march towards the conquest of space.
In two decades, the conquest of space has reached new stages and the objective remains for man to be able to carry out long stays there in conditions similar to life on Earth. Analyzes, examinations and scientific experiments carried out on new space stations continue to supply research centers with data on a daily basis to advance science and enable man to forge his space destiny.
The perspectives that are opening up today for the mastery of space are full of promise and will certainly contribute to rethinking the boundaries of man and his knowledge.
