Algeria commemorates the 35th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution. Dedicated to all the martyrs of Algeria who have allowed current generations to fully benefit from independence and freedom, this day will be marked by numerous cultural events throughout the national territory.
Algeria in the 1980s signed and persisted on the path of development in all sectors of activity. In the field of education, the country has carried out several educational reforms, including the Algerian education system reform project.
Cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) developed after the creation in 1982 of the High Commission for New Energies. A member of the IAEA since 1963, Algeria continues to benefit from funding for the acquisition of equipment and the training of several hundred researchers and technicians in the nuclear field. The Algerian navy has received in recent years two classic Romeo class submarines, 3 Koni class anti-submarine frigates, 3 missile corvettes, the last two major units to be imported being the two Kilo class submarines in 1987 and 1988.
After eight years of war against the occupier, causing significant human damage, Algeria is considered by third world countries as a symbol and a reference in the struggle for the self-determination of peoples. On November 1, 1989, Algeria, which remembers its martyrs, began a new cycle by engaging in a positive process of political and economic transformation. By demonstrating its desire to invest, on the international scene, in the free trade area in the Mediterranean and then in Europe, Algeria is definitively freeing itself from the colonial episode.
