Algiers Station
In the historic heart of Algiers, Constantine, Skikda and Oran, we can find a train station. These beautiful constructions are part of the vast repertoire of built heritage resulting from colonization. The ports, generally located in the background, give the stations a unique charm. There are also beautiful monuments in the Moorish style, both in terms of their exterior architecture and their interior decoration, created following the ministerial decree of February 4, 1857 providing for the creation of a railway network, the first program of which consisted of a main track parallel to the sea and perpendicular tracks connecting this track to the main ports. Thus, the Skikda station was built on March 28, 1937, that of Oran was opened to the public in 1913, following the first work undertaken in 1908 and the Constantine station was inaugurated in 1882. The Algerian railway network has a history. It also has a future. The importance of developing and improving infrastructure by establishing an efficient transport system in order to modernize the railway network, approximately 4,200 km long, is necessary for greater compliance with the standing of large cities.
