Chemex Africa
As part of the application of Article October 4, 2023 in Algiers, a multi-component exercise to strengthen chemical emergency response capacities for the African region, entitled 'Chemex Africa'. This exercise, aimed at strengthening the capacities of African States Parties to respond to chemical emergencies, is intended for teams of first responders from the Economic Communities of West African States (ECOWAS), Central Africa (ECCAS) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), as well as a team of ten (10) national trainees. The training will be provided by instructors from the East African Community (EAC), and supported by technical teams from the People's National Army and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). This training will be closed by the execution of a chemical attack simulation exercise, led by African trainees, under the supervision of European and American observers and experts, followed by the inauguration of an exhibition, the first of its kind in Africa, reserved for professionals in the fields of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives and those relating to the CIAC, in which national and international companies will take part.
