Costume of Orania
Oranese urban attire reflects multiple cultural mixes. The women inherited an outfit which was influenced by Tlemcenian and Algiers at the same time. The Oran blouse is characterized by its balloon sleeves on which are placed rigid pieces enhanced with trimmings. The bib, richly decorated with embroidery and pearls, gives these dresses, generally cut from lace, an imposing appearance. The jewelry, on the other hand, remained very sober.
