✨ Discovery of the day
Year: 2010
Shanghai World Expo 2010
The World Expo, which will be held from May 1 to October 31, 2010 in Shanghai (China), is one of the largest exhibitions. A major communication forum, it will be an opportunity for 230 countries and international organizations to exchange their experiences, their experiences and to convey their message. The general theme of the exhibition, “Better city, better life” guides reflection on the necessary improvement of the urban environment which reflects the legitimate aspiration of people for a better quality of life. Algeria, with an open pavilion of 1000 m2 following on from the last international exhibition in Zaragoza (Spain) 2008, where it was awarded an award in its category for the quality of the presentation of the contents, places itself in Shanghai as an essential partner country given its immense natural, historical, economic, cultural and human potential. The Algeria pavilion will focus its presentation on history and heritage on the one hand, concerning the Algerian living environment in the former great cities and Casbahs and in a Saharan city of undeniable authenticity and originality; on the other hand with the new towns to be created by 2025. Finally, a third large space will be devoted to the reality of Algeria and in particular the promotion of its tourist potential, highlighting its culture, its crafts, its daily life and its openness to the world, through an itinerary where the visitor will discover the major changes of a plural Algeria. Thus each country will be able to define its own theme and participate in congresses, symposia and conferences dealing with ways of thinking about the city and the common aspiration for a better life in the city of the future by creating a model of life that is both sustainable and harmonious. The pavilion will also highlight the links of friendship, solidarity and economic cooperation between two countries marked this year by the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and China.
